The calendar contains the Northampton & District Organists' Association's annual list of events.
Saturday 3rd February  2018   CD Afternoon at 94 Spinney Hill Road, Parklands, Northampton NN3 6DN at 3.00pm.

Members are invited to bring their own memorable recordings (no more than five minutes, please), to explain why they are meaningful to them and play the chosen item.

Saturday 10th March 2018 Mahler 2 with David Briggs 7.30pm at St Matthew's Church, Kingsley Park Terrace, Kettering Road, Northampton NN1 4RY.

A performance by the virtuoso organist of his transcription of Mahler's 2nd symphony 'Resurrection' on the Walker Organ, with Northampton Bach Choir and soloists. Twenty tickets available at discounted price to NDOA members.


Saturday 12th May 2018   Bach's Jounrney

An audio-visual presentation by Mark Gibson and Lee Dunleavy following the journey of JS Bach from Eisenach to Leipzig illustrated with pictures and organ music composed in places where the great musician lived and worked.

 Abington Avenue URC, Abington Avenue, Northampton NN1 4QA. 7.30pm start.

Saturday 2nd June 2018 Visit to Church Organ World and Sulgrave

10.30am start at the showroom of Church Organ World in Mixbury near Brackley for a demonstration of a range of organs using sound sampled technology, with the opportunity to try the instruments.

Followed by a visit to St James the Less, Sulgrave to see and play their recently restored Binns organ.



Saturday 30th June 2018

Members' Recital at 6.00pm. Abington Avenue URC, Abington Avenue, Northampton NN1 4QA.

Recital by members of the association. Details of availability during the morning and afternoon for practice will be confirmed nearer the date.

Donations following the recital will go towards the David Morgan Education Fund.

Monday 27th August 2018 Bank Holiday Organ Crawl in the Oundle area.

11:00 St. Mary the Virgin, Titchmarsh (Thomas C Lewis 1870 organ recently rebuilt by Harrison & Harrison)

Followed, after a pub lunch, by visits to Warmington (Grant, Degens & Bradbeer) and Tansor (Walker & Sons).

Talk and participatory workshop on West Gallery Music, with particular relevance to Northamptonshire, with members of Bedford Gallery Quire.

Saturday 3rd November  2018 94th Annual General Meeting at 3pm. Castle Hill URC, Doddridge Street, Northampton NN1 2RN 

3.00pm AGM followed, at approx. 3.45pm, a talk by Malcolm Deacon on the hymn writing of Philip Doddridge.
